Trampolines bring so much fun to the backyard, but what happens when the days grow short and the cold wind blows? You don’t want to give up your bouncing just because it’s a little chilly, but you also don’t want to freeze your tail off either. That’s why you need the best trampoline cover to keep you warm while you still enjoy your trampoline.
Some covers are meant for specific brands, and if your trampoline is a different brand, you can quickly check it off your list. Other trampoline covers protect your trampoline against rain and ultraviolet rays but do not protect against snow and ice.
The severity of the winters in your area may be a factor in selecting the best trampoline cover along with the overall quality and durability of the product.
1. What Is a Trampoline Cover?
Trampoline covers are usually protective materials secured overtop of your trampoline to protect it against weather, UV rays, or debris. There are other covers not meant primarily for protection, such as a child-themed clubhouse cover. These covers are used to turn a trampoline into a themed fun house for children.
2. What Are Trampoline V-Rings?
The bounce mat is the trampoline surface that users bounce on. The bounce mat is connected to the trampoline frame by V-rings.
Usually, the trampoline frame has a series of small springs attached. At the end of each spring is a hook. The V-rings are attached to the perimeter of the bounce mat. As the mat is stretched across the top of the frame, the hooks on the springs attach to the V-rings. This keeps the bounce mat taut.
Often, trampoline protectors and covers lay across the top of the trampoline and connect to the V-rings on the underside.
How We Reviewed
We reviewed the following trampoline covers based on their price and availability as well as size, material, and effectiveness. We attempted to look at a variety of covers in order to meet the potential needs of an array of buyers.
A primary difference among some of the covers we reviewed was whether they were brand-specific. One trampoline company might offer a durable, whether-resistant cover, but if a buyer does not own the same brand of trampoline, it does them no good. Other products have a more universal design, but they fit better on certain trampolines than others.
A final variable had to do with protective netting. Safety nets, upheld by a pole system, are common on trampolines used by children. Universal covers rarely can be applied to a trampoline until the poles have been removed. For some, this is a frustrating task. Only brand-specific covers can work with the poles still erect, but some brand-specific covers still require the poles to be removed.
